Siddharth Kerkar was born in Goa into an artist family and has had extensive exposure to art from an early age. He has a close association with the Museum of Goa where he also practices in his studio. Growing up by the seaside, the ocean has played an important role in inspiring Siddharth’s practice. He infuses the physical with the metaphysical. His fascinating eyes see a piece of driftwood, broken wooden canoe, bubble wrap, net, sawdust, sand, cement or a copper plate in a new light giving them an identity that become a part of his abstract visual play. He perceives himself to be a
rebellion against established norms while also making a statement towards sustainability. He looks at art as a means to communicate a message and believes that art plays an important role in spreading new ideas
